There's currently a big retail staff discount on the 5D. So if you work in the retail world you could get one cheaper than at B&H.
I'm not sure if the discount is available in any other country.

Canon Roadmap – Lenses
With camera predictions out of the way, what about lenses?
Canon over the last year has addressed the entry level market with the 18-55 IS and 55-250 IS. They've addressed needs in the highend marketplace with the 200 f/2L and 800 f/5.6L. What about the prosumer market?
I can see 3 new lenses coming in the fall.
The first, and I think a gimme.
EF 24-70 f/2.8L IS
I can see this lens getting IS to compete with Sony's new version and to one up Nikon. **I incorrectly posted Nikon had a VR version, I was mistaken.**
EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS II
I see an optics update and a better IS system. Some would prefer to see the push/pull design gone.
EF-S 17-85 f/4-5.6 IS II
The current version of this lens is mediocre to a lot of folks. Heck even DPR gave it a bad review. Canon needs to update this lens optically and perhaps add a 2 mode IS system to it. It could also do with a build quality upgrade.
Others that people will talk about until they AREN'T announced.
EF-S 17-200 f/4-5.6 IS
I don't think Canon will do this lens for a few reasons. It'll eat sales of their wide range of telephoto zooms, and because I think they'll be releasing 2 new FF cameras. I can't see them attacking the EF-S market with a lens that will retail around $700-$800.
EF 17-40 f/4 IS II
Some would love this lens with IS and improved corner sharpness on FF bodies. I'm one of those people. However, the 16-35 II didn't get IS.. I can't see this one getting it.

Sigma is going to be the first to market with their very cool Foveon APS based DP1. I expect the same from Canon.
I'm going to predict this is the time Canon moves to 28mm at the wide end on their higher end P&S's to compete with Panasonic.

I truly believe Canon will abolish the 1.3 crop. Mainly for marketing reasons. Full frame is perceived to be better. Another issue I have with 1.3 is there is no ultra wide option for the camera. They could sell 1d's to landscape photographers that want to spend a few grand less than the 1ds. We all know the IQ of the 1d series is terrific. There is going to be a lot of discussion about sensor size as the time grows closer.
