Waiting game…
I have a Canon Rumors redesign waiting in the wings, I'm just waiting for the other issues to be resolved before launching it.
The site will be running on better technology with some added features.
I thought long and hard about adding forums, in the end I decided against it. I think there's enough places on the web that are very active… no point in adding more. Moderating a busy forum can be a full time job anyway. I do have a photography career to look after as well. :)
I'm going through the applications for Canon Rumors help as I write this, I won't be making contact with anyone until THE issue is solved. It might be a hard sell at the moment.
I won't give away anything else, but I think it'll be a big improvement.
Thanks for reading

RED's next move: Monstro super DSLRs
Red CEO, Jim Jannard, is stirring up trouble in the RED User forums, J. Wong-style. His latest volley discusses the new Mysterium “Monstro” sensor program, the next evolution (and future free upgrade) to the Mysterium X sensor slated for RED's 5k Epic. The most interesting revelation though is this little nugget: in addition to Epic, RED plans to place Monstro into, “another camera aimed squarely at the DSLR market.” He later adds, “Future cameras will shoot ultra-high resolution stills and motion…” Now, considering that the second generation, full-frame, ~25 megapixel Mysterium X is already a serious challenge to 35mm film, we can only imagine what this DSLR with a third generation RED sensor might offer. Hear that Nikon? Your D90 is just the beginning of this story. Let's just hope that televisions and monitors, already struggling to reach 4k, Quad HD can keep pace.

The Canon EOS 50D — tested by Brutus
2 Full Frame Bodies
The same source that originally told me about 2 full frame cameras still insists 2 are coming for Photokina. Based on the pricing of the 50D and what a high end 5D2 would cost, there is room on the price scale for another camera.
Slapping a new LCD on the current 5D with a DIGIC IV chip would definitely be a hot seller. Nikon has recycled sensors a bunch and clearly the 5D sensor could still be viable for some time yet.
I'm just not as convinced as I once was.
1D Mark X
A new 1D? It's being talked about with a bit more vigor lately. I can't see it coming for Photokina, I just don't think Canon could overhaul an autofocus system that quickly. They obviously have to just for PR sake.
I'm told there is no chance for “n” versions of the 1D and 1Ds. If you think about it, giving the cameras a new LCD and other features without an AF system update is pointless. (My 1D3 focuses fine, we're talking public perception).
UPDATE
Yup, it's old. Canon spreading rumors again.
Is this old?
I swear I saw this a year ago, I could be wrong.

All is quiet
No one at Canon wants to talk to me, so I left a few voice mails. I think I'll get back to business tomorrow. Waiting game now I guess.
This is kind of ok, this site needs a slight design refresh, especially the header. I do like the simple navigation and quick loading of the site (loads well for me anyway). I will spruce things up soon.
The site might deviate from Canon a few times. I do like how aggressive Panasonic is being and could have some cool products. I'm also a fan of Pentax. That being said, this site will remain 95% Canon.
I've received about 1000 emails in the last 24 hours, that's kinda crazy. Thanks for them. I've only been flamed 2-3 times, which is a good ratio.
I have received the question about how much Canon stuff I own at least 30 times. I'm a moderate consumer, I'm actually trying to have less stuff. I've said goodbye to a 24-70, 30D, 430EX, 50 1.8 in the last few months. The only lens I think I might want is a 400 2.8 for sports stuff, although 300 2.8 might be enough.

Nikon just doesn't have replacements for the 35 and 85 that I truly think are as good. Those are my bread and butter lenses and switching as some have suggested would be quite difficult.
Thanks again for the support and see you tomorrow!
