“One of the visitors of Photokina 2008 Trade Show in Cologne reported in a well known German Canon forum today (http://www.dforum.net/), that Canon is now actually discussing a firmware upgrade to enable 25 fps mode. Furthermore, the Canon technician, who revealed this information, confirmed, that the 25 fps can be achieved by firmware change only, no hardware modifications are required.”

The people seem to want the feature.

The newly released Canon SX1 bridge camera uses a new type of internal AF, called VCM instead of Canon's tried and tested USM system. Don't ask me what VCM stands for, I wasn't paying too much attention to the abbreviation and have forgot what it means! The long and the short of it is that this new AF system should start making it's way into lenses in the next 6 months. He wouldn't let on how it works, but it's meant to be faster and quieter than the standard USM system. It's in the new SX 1 IS. Will they put it in new USM lenses? Once I know for sure what it is, I might have a better answer. For now, I'll say this is a point & shoot thing.

They aren't art, but the noise levels are pretty good.
