This is the camera I've been waiting for. I'm a Canon fan, but I got the Olympus 1040SW back in the spring before going on a vacation. It's a great little camera, but the menu is just foreign to me. Everyone liked the camera when I went away, and it's been to a few parties as well. So the camera has been from the ocean to a pool to a hottub, I wouldn't do that with anything else. Except a Canon one....

I have no use for this. The best underwater camera for a reasonable price is the G9 and when the UW case is out it will be the G10 (wider lens). All my diving friends and UW photographers I know use the G9. 10m is nothing, the UE case of the G9 and IS1100 goes down to 40m.

Many people buy the Olympus waterproof cameras when they go on vacation - the feature is a good selling point for these folks even if they never end up using it. Canon could sell quite a lot of these.

I hope they come out with a waterproof camera. I'm in the market for a high image quality, compact, waterproof camera, with a nice move mode (preferably HD). So far I haven't found any cameras that I'm willing to pay for in that market. A lot of them look good on paper, but the images are very disappointing.
