EF 24-105 f/4L IS Stealth Upgrade? [CR2]

I’ve received and searched out information in regards to the 24-105 f/4L IS “stealth” upgrade that may be happening with the 5D Mark II kit.
It’s a 50/50 split of bogus/true.
I think it’s bogus personally. The lens will become a lot cheaper to get with the kit, replacement “upgrade” lenses don’t make prices lower.

As of yesterday, looks like B&H Photo just filled some of their preorders for the 5DII Kit, and are now sold out.

If that is holding up the kits, they should start releasing the body only’s that were purchased. Hence, I’m inclined to not believe the rumor either.

Can you please block the “Yes on Prop 8″ ads coming from Google adsense? I don’t really want to see this when I come to learn about photography equipment.

what are some other good sides to watch for rumors like this? I can’t find anyone else talking about this stealth upgrade issue and can’t figure out what you are talking about?

I think there will not be an upgrade to the 24-105 lens. I think that the announcement of the 24mm Mark II at the same time as the 5D Mark II has caused some confusion.

I still don’t think there will be a 24-105 mk II coming out.
Austin, check on craigslist, plenty of people are selling their 24-105 for as low as $950cdn.

for the lens you want, it will weight as least 1.25kg,1.5kg with IS.I don’t want such heavy walk around lens.haha..
