The First from Europe
Oddly, it looks the same as the American 5D2.
This was sent to us from Copenhagen, Denmark.
I’m still waiting on the first 5D Mark II from Canada & Tuvalo

From Copenhagen? Which store?? I live in Denmark and as far as I know no stores in Denmark has that camera yet.

still hearing mid to end of next week up in ol canada. I hope for sooner, but was told not to hold my breath :’-(

I’m still waiting on the first 5D Mark II in Helsinki, Finland! No one is in Finland yet! Largest photo storeEtusivu – Rajala Pro Shop sent me e-mail: “I’m sorry but we haven’t got any new information about the new 5D yet. Canon hasn’t informed us with any specific dates, so we can’t promise anything specific either. We should be getting the first ones in a few days.
We will notify you as soon as we’ll be getting the information!” But, nothing yet! May be something at Monday? May be someone got information abou first delivery in Finland? Is it truth, that Finland will be latest in Europe? Or may be limited delivery goes to black market? Dear friends, we wait any news about 5D Mark II from Finland and Scandinavian countries!

Hello,
We’ve started the deliveries, but unfortunately we have so many orders that we can’t deliver all of them in a week, not even in a month. We will notify as soon as you’re in order to get the camera. Unfortunately Canon does not tell us any specific dates or amounts of how many we will be getting (per delivery), there’s nothing else to do than just wait.
There is nothing wrong with your order. We will be in touch as soon as we get the camera!

Verkkokauppa.com now lists they have 2 pieces of 5D mark II in their
warehouse. Makes me wonder if all the dealers got the same quantity.

Just collect mine in Ireland today. Only one kit supplied to the shop but I got them to take the lens out.
Ten minutes after collecting it another shop called me with another kit, again only one supplied to the shop.

I think, only one kit or body supplied to Rajala Pro Shop Sanomatalo
in Helsinki, Finland. They don’t say how many? But thay say about my number in a line, it is 11. Also thay say, that may be I have to wait more then month with that number to get camera! May be only in New Year?! Not good news for Finnish photographers! Not at all! It look, we are again last in Europe! Or may be also new cameras can not find customers after delivery to the shop? :) Many “friends of the shop” would like to be first hand-holders of new rare thing? ;) Because Rajala Pro Shop keep in secret amount of first delivery for no reason! Nobody need to know how many of Canon 5D Mark II in Finland now! No one need know how long to wait! :) Will see! Let me know if I am not correct! No information, many questions! Sombody from Finland, tell me truth about this situation!

Rough and short translation:
“We should get a (first) larger shipment during the week 51. People who ordered after September will not get their cameras this year.”
This sure feels like a long wait. :) Luckily I am almost at the top position in the current queue list.
