i easily sold mine 5D II order recently for the same price i paid, lucky. i think i won’t bag this camera until all problems are solved and it appears to be satisfactory to most of users.

I still can’t find one anywhere in Canada. I am number one at the moment on two stores order lists, I have not heard of ANYONE in Canada getting a unit without a pre-order weeks/months ago.

In Sweden they choose to send first the orders for the professionals. Then they send to those who ordered the kit product. Those with only the house probably get in the begining of the next year :(

I want a 5D2, but I would wait until Canon fixed the black dot and the price dropped below 16,000 HKD..
20800 HKD for a 5D2 is crazy.. it is way too expensive with an old AF, old metering and a troubled sensor.

BTW canon should create a web page and ask us what we wanted the most.. they seems to be getting the wrong idea.

I wonder where all the kits have gone. I also though canon would be pushing kits so the up my odds of getting one plus I need a 24-something anyways I ordered a kit. At least in canada kits have been really skint. I was in the Teen’s for a kit pre order on Nov 7. Fortunately I’ve been buying from the same shop for my whole life no matter where in the world I’ve lived. I got a call he had a body for me and that if I want to see a mk2 before christmas he’s got a box with my name on it. Now i’m hunting for a kit buyer who wants me to take the lens off his hands 1:1 Everyone I’ve seen so far is trying to make $2-300 bux off it. I dont get it, if i was going to drop 1200 the 24-70 is the choice.

Now i just wish canada post would move their grass, whats the point of buying guaranteed next day 12pm. So it can be day 3 and they wont pick up their phones.

I’ve got my 5DMKII at Tuesday (December 16) from Henry’s (Newmarket location). I’ve preordered it at October 9. I checked my shots after night shooting – no black dots or other nasty artifacts were discovered.

Italian biggest canon reseller store in milan got only four 5dmkII bodies until now….while today I saw a huge pile of d3x boxes just downloaded from a truck in front of their premises….maybe canon is doing something wrong?

@Jon: Congratulations! I pre-ordered from them on Sept 18. I think I was around 60 on the list. Got a call from them last Wednesday. Received it in the mail on Monday. Just got back from outside shooting Christmas lights at ISO 3200.

My 5D JUST came in today in Calgary. I pre-ordered in September and was #150 or something like that for the Camera Store.

Here in Switzerland, we’ve gone within two weeks from “we (salespersons) don’t even get to see the bodies, it’s all pre-orders and the customers come to get them 15 minutes after we’ve phoned them”, to a situation where I was able to spend about 30 minutes with one, they had a couple others in stock, and the next day it was the same stock level.

But maybe it’s not a slowdown in demand, maybe it’s just that production is catching up, is all.
