Many users have NR turned on in their camera, or in lightroom. This can make them go away. also note, you need to use 200% magnification in many cases to see them, and they are not obvious unless you know where to look.

For most users, they are not a issue, just for those who display gigantic prints, and even then, most people will never notice them unless they know what to look for, and get up really close.

I haven't bothered to try and make them, I'm sure that I could.

Since Canon was able to reproduce it with their cameras, its pretty certain that you can make any 5D2 do it.

However, you may have to do some extreme things like overexposing christmas lights in the dark. It shows up only in cases where there is a abtupt transition from blown out light areas to a dark background, high ISO 1600 and higher is more prone to show it.

I found that NR cleans it up nicely, and with the type of exposures required to produce it, NR is needed.
