    The amazon ad is floating in front of the main (most recent) post, with no ability to hide it.

    What about the Sonic Cameras ad? I can’t believe that CR is letting this company try to rip people off by putting another of its famous ads that lure people to do business with them just so they can rip them off.

    Don not buy anything from this New York company. They are a bunch of thieves, which is indicative of most New York electronic companies.

    Just google their name and you’ll see.

    @Dean
    These ads are fed by Google. I have near zero control over what appears on the site. Google feeds the ads based on content. I filter some out, but some still get through.

    I think people need to take this stuff up with Google, as I have in the past with not much luck. Really though, what can they do?

    Thanks for clarifying. I just wanted people to know about these people. They are nothing but scum.

    I’ll do my part by contacting Google. What they can do is stop taking money from companies that are known to be nothing but a bunch of thieves.

    why does this type of retailer seem so prevalent in the camera industry? or am i imagining it? are other electronics-based resellers so dishonest?

    Google gets lots of money from the bait and switch outfits, and cameras are only a drop in the bucket.

    Google could police it and cleanup their act, but they make billions from people being scammed. This is entirely legal, but for those who see Google as a responsible, ethical, company, and buy from some of these dealers, its a shame.

    I always lookup where the company is located. If it’s New York, then most likely it’s a scam. That’s a shame but it is the reality.

    Any word on RED’s AF / IS / Diaphragm control for EF lenses? Are we just going to see MF, no IS, only wide open? As far as I can see, it looks like the EF mount shown in RED’s ads has no contacts.
