I’ll say that’s a fake image, most notably the letter R in XRI has been made using incorrect font. Just compare it with XSI image from the same site:

just logo of camera type (450D)is replaced by XRi (as an illustration). But I don’t know what is the meaning of that symbols ;-)

The 400D has been taken down the Canon Singapore website not too long ago, and has disappeared from most shops. Probably a sign of things to come…

I waiting for this camera long enough. It have to be released. I don’t want to wait any longer too. I am not economist, but I think if it would be released a lot of customers would be certainly delighted instead of economic crisis.

Sebastian+1. Its the Angst that’s killing the economy. And with the emphasis of the media on bad news, it starts to become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

But regarding the 500D:

I could get quite a deal on an 50D at the moment, its sold in a bundle with quite a lot of useful stuff and a lens I could sell for >100Ã¢â€šÂ¬.
But this “500D announcement imminent” rumors, followed by “500D delayed” really makes that a tough choice.

However, if the 500D did come out early this year and had the VGA display and video function, I would rather opt for the 500D, cause I could keep my accessories (batteries, battery grip will probably also be compatible if the do not change the battery). And I actually do prefer the smaller size of xxxDs.

Maybe I should stop reading around in web rumor mills, that would keep me from missing bargains and upgrading to a semi-professional body. ;-)

I hope not. Actually waiting for this one to come. And don’t really want to wait much longer…

I hate that these days all delays / mishaps are blamed on the economic crisis – gee it is not all that bad for all people. Get down to work, deliver the stuff and then profits will come backa again

Just came bacj from Japan for several days.
Canon KissX2 (450D) commercial is still repeatedly played on TV.
Also, in several chain camera stores like Bic Camera or Yodobashi, KissX2 is still on top.
This may be the reason that Canon decides to delay 500D
