I 'm still on 1.06. Also wandered if upgrading would reset my preferences (like C1-3, live view options,...)?

Apart from that, some say 1.07 unsharpens the pics? Any ideas on that subject?

Would that "non reacting button thing" be a software or a hardware issue? Mine is fine, reacts all the time.

Dorkage- Did you talk anybody from Canon. In my country nobody knows about this problem. This problem not only include menu button, also include picture style and preview button. So left side buttons. When the firmware 1.0.6 had not a problem. Interesting and too bad. May be it is a mechanically problem. Because when I shake the camera menu and the other buttons are not working properly. If anybody knows something about this problem please reply me. Thanks..

After I updated to 1.0.7, some problems occurred. Sometimes I push to preview button or menu button nothing happens. After restart camera it seems normal but this problem occurred several times.

@Tomh

My concern is not over the problems the firmware fixes, but over the problems the firmware may introduce.

Quote from Canon's firmware information page:
"If the existing software applications are used to display sRAW1 and sRAW2 images that were captured by a camera with Firmware Version 1.0.7, dark, low-contrast areas in the images may appear slightly magenta. If the updated software applications are used to display sRAW1 and sRAW2 images, the color of the images will appear normal, regardless of the camera firmware version."

Clearly Canon has changed the way the sRAW files are being written AND interpreted. Therefore, if I update to the 1.0.7 firmware and look at a low-contrast dark image in Lightroom or Aperture, will I notice a magenta cast on these images or areas of images? Its simply the fact that you'd need to update DPP that makes me cautious.

As for the black dot issue, the problem generally affected more than one pixel (though not by much).

A great post that details the lack dot fixes between 1.0.6 and 1.0.7 can be found here:
