Hello everyone, I am very close to by the 5d m2 but I live in euorope so the 30fps is an issue for me, aswell for the manual limitations in videomode.
How likely do you think it is that they will fix these “problems” in the near future?
If these issues aren’t adressed I am sorry to say that I’d rather chose a video camera with 35 mm adapter. Like the Panasonic HMC-151 for instance. Thoghts?

I talked to someone at Canon today and she told me to email them with feature requests. Perhaps if they get a lot of requests for 24p, they will listen.

we want 25P, or 50i…
why ?
because I have a XH A1 and Sony Z1, in PAl version, and it’s not good to mix 25P with 30P… horrible, not fluid !

for me : NO 5D MII if no 25P !!!!
I’m not alone, very very very… in france…

Please canon, The NTSC people is not the only professional video men’s… and your 5D MII is not universal actually…

We need 25p!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i ve tried to do the conversion(30p to 25p)….. it takes ages and the result is not perfect!!! really not fair for non NTSC!!!!

25p is necessary if you don’t want to turn your back to the other half of the world.
24p would be a great addon…

The main topic was on 5D MK II firmware update, but lot of posts were on “fights” Mac vs. PC….

– I would REALLY like to know if there is a reliable source or clue that can tell if Canon is working on a firmware update that will allow MANUAL setting for VIDEO Recording.

Manual setting is SO important for a professional use…
For instance, if the camera chooses a small aperture, as it often seems to do, then there won’t be any thin Depht of field…

And tweaking hard the camera to get the best results a professional work needs, it’s not a good deal!

Neither using Nikon (non G) lenses with an adapter to get the aperture ring at your fingers..

– Can Canon improve the Video feature via firmware update? I suppose it is possible.
I would REALLY LIKE to know any info about that, since it can drive me switch to Canon…(Nikon user)

Also the ability to record in 24 and 30 fps, set by the user according to working need.

– Is Canon listening to Vincent and so many people suggestions regarding the Video mode?

Kyle: PAL /NTSC Video mode is the selection for the TV-out option.

I mean shooting in 25p (PAL) than 24p or 30p (NTSC)

Anyway, I always post-edit my works, so conversion occour
