I own all sort of film and digital cameras from Arax to Zenza, so I can say whatever I want (as long as the moderator agree me to…). Canon has been doing good things ™, but not that much recently.

Seriously what is it with all the Canon bashing? This is a Canon rumor site, i.e. for people who are interested in their products.

For everyone who finds Canon lacking, just sell off all your Canon stuff and go to the Nikon camp. They have boards to complain on too.

Canon has been crippling features since at least the 300D : you could hack the firmware to enable crippled features. And then there was the 40D video capture. And then they are so many crippled features I can list them all, just look at the specs.

Well, Canon could also ONLY offer a USD8,000-quality camera at low quantities, but that would leave most of us without a dslr, yes?

I’m not aware of Canon Crippling any camera. They offer features for a price. If you pay more, you get more. This is the way it is with all products, from Apple Computers to Zune Players. That doesn’t mean that it cost a lot more to add the features, its just thw world wide business model.

Nikon does the same, they put the best features in their more expensive products.

actually canon lost majority market share in november. lot of people went D3, especially those got burned by mkIII AF issues.

I wonder for how long Canon will remain number 1.
If they proceed making models that are hardly an improvement over the previous version and if they keep kripling camera’s to spare the higher model number I think it will be done with Canon any time soon.

Nikon is comming up fast and will for sure surpass Canon if Canon won’t change its marketing and product design.
