found this link on Fake Chuck website :
http://www.pictchallenge-archives.net/TESTNUM/D3_TGVautofocus.html

It is a quite impressive sequence of continuous shots with auto-focus, of the french high-speed train (rougthly 300Km/h), used to compare the performance of the D3 and 1D3 auto-focus functions.

I agree with your conclussion.

The Ds typically has just over twice the resolution at half the framerate. So 36 isn't a bad guess.

oh, thank you for correcting me. I missunderstood the whole phrase....

But, I don't think that would ever happen. Why? because that will leave a big gap in EOS line. that means losing customer base because of the many professionals with existing invesment with no upgrade path.

Therefore, I believe that If canon wants to enter the market of medium Format, then they will do it with a fresh product line other than the current EOS.

I'm sure that the 1ds will be a FF with more pixels than the 1d (36MP?)

I think you mean the Ds would have a larger than FF sensor.

I still think that would be a terrible Idea, since the lenses are made for 35mm. there really wouldn't be any point. even the new T/S lenses have an image circle smaller than 645, and I'm not in favor of Canon making a peculiar format, or actually going MF at all, their lenses don't have leaf shutters, and the x-sync on a FP shutter for MF would be terrible.

As said above, 24X36mm is not cropped, it is full frame. Teh implication of which is that the 1DIV would be bigger than full-frame. :D

I know.. I tried to get the test as direct translated as I could.

And really, if you were an Spanish Speaking person, you would feel embarrassed for the poor language skills. Now, something weird is that the author is Michael Wardson (English name) so I'm guessing it is a bad translation but I couldn't find anything on this person.

So this one, I don't believe it at all.

I will be sad if the 1d mark IV got a cropped sensor. It won't be good for my profession but I'm sure that lots of sport photographers will be happy..
