I’m sure that it’s Finland where they don’t have great long discussions about something that’s about to take place-ie. they don’t do ‘what if’… I guess it’s natural to speculate on what may come about,whole industries are built on it,especially in the finance world (shares).

Come next Tuesday, Sept 1, we’ll all know for sure and that’s when I’ll start making decisions about getting the 5D 11 or a 7D, meanwhile I’ll put my time to better use. I’ve enjoyed reading all the speculative points raised but just can’t help feeling it’s been time wasted.

Also if you read careful I said the D300 is selling for 1600. And I said the D300s is selling $200 cheaper than the would be Canon release making it 1800. I’ve been around long enough to know the difference between a legit seller and not-legit.

I simply checked amazon.com, they usually post fair-market.

These specs would be a lot more reasonable. Although these days all my money is blown away at buying light modifiers for my Profoto setup. Haha, maybe when I can afford it it’ll be a little cheaper.

Look I feel the same way about the AF points since most of my work is portrait and such.

But say I’m at the beach and I see a really cool bird flying my way, forget about getting that thing in focus. Ain’t gonna happen.

Yea I’m happy with my 9pt AF, it beats the heck out of not having any like in the old days. But if you’re trying to out do the D300(s) this is not gonna do it.

And yes I know these are rumors and soft specs…but if they’re even 50% accurate I’m already not impressed.

A 7D without video is a ridicolous speculation, so unbeliveble for today’s standards.
The barrel of 15 Mpixel has already overpassed for all beginner cameras too…Try to exercise more your fantasy, boys, if you really want to wonder…

The 5D is not made any more. Canon no longer sells them. Dealers can no longer buy them from Canon. Just because some places still have one and they’re trying to sell it for under $2000 doesn’t make it Canon’s offering at the $2000 price point.

If this camera has the newer Digic V chip, and if it is priced same as the D300s, Canon will sell a whole lot of these.

If you say so…the 5D was 12.8 MP, just bump up the fps to 8 or 9, add a video mode, and call it the 7D. It’s more likely than spoof list #2 being a 7D instead of a 60D.
