I agree, I don’t care about MP or APSc APSh FF or whatever, all i want is a camera that feels nice, and takes good pictures, which this will.

I guess people moan because when they shell out on a £1k camera, they want all that they can get.
Also some people might upgrade from a already up to date and capable camera like a 50D, therefore want improvement. I guess you could say if its not enough of an upgrade don’t buy it!
I myself will be going from a 400D to this, so I’m already happy.

Actually if the metallic shutter sound is really good and really loud then I don’t care if it has a sensor or not! ;-)

Being a 20D owner I am looking to upgrade to better camera (and my daughter is looking forward to an early inheritance!).
If the rumours of the specs and price of the 7D are close to the mark then it looks like it’s the one for me. I fact it looks great!
This being a rumour site I appreciate that whilst some of the (earlier) posts are pure speculation and some are more akin to wish lists, but there will also be better informed posts and these are the ones that really interest me.
More experienced heads are rating correctly as CR1, CR2 and CR3 and this rumour of the 7D specs is I believe CR3 which fills me with hope.
Why then have the completely pointless slating of the APS-C sensor (1.6 or whatever)?
There is no evidence that this APS-C sensor is not good and certainly nothing to make a person decide that they are leaving Canon for Nikon.
Sure there is a fear that in order to fit 18M onto APS-C and get it to work well is a technological challenge but until there is any evidence either way it is a waste of energy and worth less than CR1.
If Canon have produced a new 18M sensor then my only concern it that once it has been tested and put though it’s paces it proves to be a real winner.
If it is a winner then I will buy it. If it isn’t then maybe I will wait for the 60D but I certainly am not going to sell my Canon glass for a pitance in order to buy a Nikon!

I surely hope that Canon sensor one day can have their green pixel occupy 60%(or whatever the nature percentage of green light is) of the die area–just like S4PRO which is already cease production, though noise wise Canon might not be happy to do that, and have a 16 bit ADC.

Newly designed body, means probably also new Grip… ?
