The 5D cut into sales of the 1Ds; why take a chance with an even-cheaper full-frame camera? It's obvious the 7D will be a mid-priced APS-sensored camera with video recording. For the xxxD line, the threat comes from 20D, 30D and 40D which are for sale for 200-450 euro.
