    If it’s 60D it won’t be a FF.

Sure, but if a new model is only a few weeks away, it will be stupid not to wait if you don’t have to.

If there will be another fullfranme, it’ll be the 7D, I think, but not the 60D, we need a pro APC-C camera =)

You’re joking. That’s the last thing we need.

The first thing we need is a detachable AF module that you can send to Canon while shooting with the rest of the camera.

Or a detachable Nikon AF module that you can plug into your Canon body to get Real Pro AF!

If this is true, I’m screwed: I have a significant investment in EF-S lenses and can’t afford L glass to go FF.

    Just minutes now, we’ll see…

Don’t worry, Knowing canon for many years already, I should say that at least the 60d will not be a full frame. There is no 7d. and the 1d mark IV may be the only candidate to receive the FF surprise.

    The 60D will still happen.

The 7D will come out if and when Sony annonunces a $2,000 full frame. I have the 5D MK II, and having to buy a 300mm “L” lens in adition to my 70-200 L really adds to the cost of the camera.

I also expect Nikon to drop the D700 price and come out with a 24mp D700x or D4 to cover the $3,000 price range. If they do, Canon will be in 2nd place without a pro level $2,000 FF body. They seem to be comfortable with this, continuing to sell lots of cameras because of their lens selection and name.

full frame = L series lenses working the way they should. Please don’t flame me for wanting my wide angles to work as they where intended before digital. And i do shoot sports, i do own a 400mm 2.8.

I’m with you. I can understand APS-C as a way of addressing the market for less expensive cameras, but it’s a temporary phenomenon. Eventually the cost of FF sensors will drop to the point that there will be no reason for APS-C.

    St-John Reply:

APS-C sensors will always be the best shot for sports/animals photographer because of the crop sensor and it’s way cheaper. FF Sensors will always coast more to produce than APS-C / APS-H sensors. Even the prices of FF cameras will go down for sure, I really don’t think it will the price of an APS-C camera someday, or maybe a bit more a XXD camera, but not around the price of the XXXD line..

APS-C and FF are not concurrent but complementary. FF sensors are not the finality! :)

7D would be good if has everything like 5D markII just without movie mode, and more AF points.

That’s my dream camera. I have no interest in shooting movies with an SLR.

I don’t think that will happen. Filming will probably be mandatory on every new canon dslr from now on.

The 7D sounds like a 50D with full frame. A lower cost full frame for those who think they want full frame. It has to be done, to meet the competition from Sony.

Having a 40D, 1D MK II, and 5D MK II, I prefer the 1.3 crop as a compromise. The cost of good telephoto lenses is very high, so when I want to shoot telephoto, the 1.6 or 1.3 crop gives better results (More pixels in the final image)

On the other hand, its much easier to find wide angle lenses for full frame, but you really need to be a wide angle enthusiast to pay the price for a FF body just to get wide angle.

Currently, the 5D MK II has better high iso response, but that is about to change.
