Canon will launch their new PowerShot cameras on the 19th of August as previously reported.
The EOS launch will be September 1 according to a few sources.

New Host, Waiting on Domain Name Move
Thanks a lot for all the patience the last 2 days as I’ve gone through server issue heck.
I have moved the site to a dedicated server. I’m using the same hosting company as Nikon Rumors, he was a big help. Visit his site. Not much to read there though….. :)
There might be a slight hiccup when the domain transfer happens. It will be minimal if there is.
What Doesn’t Work?
The price watch pages won’t work, seems silly to waste time updating the permalinks. They’ll get repaired when the domain is moved.
The Contact form is disabled until the domain updates, the plugin had to be updated anyway. That will be back.

September Announcement
A solid source has confirmed the launch of a new 1D camera in September.
The camera will be available for purchase in October in a limited number. Stock should be in full swing by the time Vancouver 2010 rolls around.
The camera will remain APS-H. The source added “photojournalists and sports photographers alike have overwhelmingly thrown their support behind the APS-H sensor. If you want full frame for your landscape and portrait work, Canon provides a superb 5D Mark II and 1Ds Mark III”.
There you have it.

More Fishies
News of a 15mm f/2.8 USM has been around for a bit now.
An email sent today (which I couldn’t post till now) says Canon will be introducing a wider fisheye lens. There’s no word on whether or not it’s EF-S or circular.

Sweet
It doesn’t have to be all Canon!
I received an email today saying Sigma would be introducing an 85mm f/1.4 this fall season. The 50 f/1.4 has been a smashing success for Sigma and this such lens would do extremely well.

Current Lens Talk
The following are lenses that are being bandied about for release this fall.
100 f/2.8 IS Macro
200 f/3.5L IS Macro
70-200 f/2.8L IS II
50-200 f/2.8L IS
24-105 f/2.8L IS
15mm f/2.8 USM Fisheye
The only credible information I have on lenses is the two macros. We’ve always had a hard time getting lens info here at Canon Rumors, this round of rumors isn’t any different.
Bodies
The 60D/7D will be arriving to the real world next Tuesday according to most sources. A couple site August 25 as a possibility.
We’ll also be seeing a new Rebel. Canon will trump the D3000 and keep video in their entry level camera.
Flashes
There is nothing on the immediate horizon about flashes.
Powershot
An interesting email claiming Canon would be releasing another waterproof camera. It would have a 5x zoom and HD Video. It’s a [CR1] rumor.
Firmware
The 5D Mark II could be seeing a firmware update “any day now”. No word on what will be added/fixed.
Canon Rumors
The site is onto the dedicated server. We had very minimal downtown last night. All seems to be working fine.

All signs point to August 19
According to a Danish site, Canon will be making their next round of PowerShot & EOS announcements August 19, 2009.

The PowerShot lineup will receive its updates. There will also be 2 SLR’s according to multiple sources. The obvious 60D/7D camera and a 2000D/T1.
Another email stated August 25, 2009 would be the day for announcements, but my money is on the 19th.

*UPDATE*
Error 500
If you’re like myself and some other readers, you’ve been experiencing a few or a lot of Error 500 messages whenever you navigate Canon Rumors. I guess this is good news, as I have outgrown the hosting capabilities of my current package. Because of this, Canon Rumors is moving to a dedicated server.
The switchover will hopefully go unnoticed by the end users. It should be completed over the next 7 days.

My Next Camera
The Leica M9 has made its way into the rumor world. It looks like we’ll see an announcement in September.
There’s still speculation it will use the Canon 5D Mark II Sensor. Others feel it’s going to be a full frame Kodak sensor. As long as it works, I don’t care what’s in it.
The projected cost of the camera is $7700 USD.
