Any one know if 5d firmware update (spring time apparently) will enable 60fps (as available on the 7D) option as well as 24/25?

Wonder if 24 fps will start looking too filmlike during panning. I notice that panning at 30 fps looks better than the panning I’ve done with film. You have to pan slower at 24 fps. A lot slower.

Are you sure the 2 processor inside the 7D are only for video capabilities? I have read it was in big part for the 8fps shooting, but I don’t know much about technologie… Anyway, having both, I prefer the movie I get with the 5D, the dynamic range on the 7D don’t seem to be as good to me…

All i’m hoping for in a new firmware release is to allow customization of the dials (like the 7D) Why they can’t keep the aperture dial consistently in one location? switching dials among different shooting modes drives me nuts… i use Aperture-priority in stills and M in video. It’s so inconvenient to switch dials…

oops, didn’t mean to get ppl to trash on you so much chuck, but seriously, it’s evident that you’re NEVER going to own a Canon 5D Mark X. You’re in fantasy land, pretending that you have interest but you don’t, cuz if you did, you’d see the good things about the camera and quit seeing the cup as half empty when the camera rocks! The Mark II is still relatively new, I don’t know why you are even trying to say it’s too old to interest a “state of the art” type of guy as yourself. Professionals love the camera, ppl that own the camera love it, if you don’t and you don’t own it, it’s cuz you’re a window shopper and you’re probably always gonna be one. It’s not a bad thing, I’m just stating the facts, you’re NEVER gonna own a Canon 5D Mark X, so quit fronting like you’re “just waiting”
