looking for Canon to come out with either a 60d.. or an updated 7d Mk 1.. with the ability to use both CF and SD cards for those of us moving up from the Xsi class–gotta do something with my dozen or more SD cards I have — similar to what Nikon did with their d300s.. don’t need video although that’s a hot marketing item these days..

as for lenses.. an updated 100-400is without the push/pull zoom.. get with it Canon.. and a 400is

geez come to think of it.. I’m not asking for much from Canon.. just to get with it and ‘ketchup’ to Nikon… I really don’t want to switch

Anyway, if you’re such a great photographer then why would you even be so invested in the tech specs of a 60D or Rebel? You’re obviously a much better photographer than most people who those cameras are targeted for so what’s wrong with the pros getting their solid weatherproofed classically molded machines and the prosumers getting something that gives them more flexibility for their learning curve.

Articulating screens are nice. GPS is nice. These things aren’t essentials but they are welcome additions to many people who’ve actually used them.

Same reasons I am thinking about swapping systems. 5D2s Autofocus is about 6 years old, “F us in the A” is right. Not to mention Canons new AF still not being as good as Nikons 3D Matrix AF system, which recognizes color and distance.

I used to avoid going over ISO 1000 with my 40D. But 1600 works quite well, especially for indoor sports. Just use a little noiseware.

by the way, i usually shoot using available light. so noise performance is really important to me. im happy with my 40d but i get to use it only up to iso 1000 i would not dare go beyond.

for months i’ve been waiting for a replacement for my favorite 40d. i have no problems with my 40d. it does everything i need. but i need to have another body so might as well buy something better. but i wont go into FF. the 50d was a disappointment. ive been thinking about the 7D but then people have split opinions on it, making me confused in buying it. i decided to wait for the 60d before making the decision, but heck the articulating screen and no AF improvement. anyway, these are all rumors.

for 7D users out there, how does it really perform especially from iso 100-1600? could you also provide me a link on some of your shots. thanks!
