Still puzzled as to why my girlfriend's SX20 IS doesn't have a rechargeable battery. Was Canon just being cheap? Because the cost of the camera wasn't too cheap.

I don't mind DPP's current interface, it's simple and easy to use.
I don't see what people complain about it for compared to using PS. DPP is way easier to use and provides very good results that have that Canon-look. PS has plenty more options, mostly not-needed ones when it comes to RAW conversion altho there's nothing like PS when you need to do some seriously heavy work on a file.

But gheez is DPP ever SLOW on an old PPC mac. It also chokes to a near halt if there's more than 300 files in a folder. I wish THAT part would be fixed. 3.7.2 has also been quite unstable, the older versions never crashed like this one.

Compacts - I was really excited when the A650is came along... but then I saw the lack of dynamic range and decided not to buy one. My old A610 still works beauty for what I need of it.

An A650is-alike, but with fewer MP for more DR and better S/N & IQ, still running on 4x "AA" cells would be welcome, or give the G11 back the stopped-down preview function when pressing AE-lock.

Now, let's see about some new lenses.. The new 70-200 f/2.8 L IS' MTF chart is showing some improvement in at the wide end, not so much at the long end. We'll have to see some real-world tests. I hope the contrast is improved over the original 2.8 IS version. I like that lens but it's a little washed out for contrast right now.

I want a GPS add-on as well. There is the PhotoTrackr that probably would work for me, but I do need this ability in order to organize photos easily in iPhoto.

Then again, unless the feature is built into new cameras, the competition from 3rd parties may be too great now for Canon to even want to get into the GPS game.

Hej, this is like a nightmare : even flatter than A2000 Is and others, no more AA, no more x6 zoom. Call A3100 IS an IXUS, it's nothing else than one more IXUS.
I feel so bad, I hate canon for doing that.
