They are keeping their horrible IR system for remote firing? I love my camera but their remote system is next to useless when we use them for weddings.

What are they thinking keeping such limited tech in their new flash? Guess I'll be waiting to upgrade.

Really, no sarcasm, I am so f'ing happy the Master/Slave switch is back. The 580EX II is wonky about staying on slave (maybe mine's a reluctant sub?) Canon may have gotten my psychic stink-eye rage for the few seconds I have to toggle back to slave electronically.

If Canon wants to come out of the dark ages with it's Speedlites and finally catch up to Nikon, it needs to really push the limit with this new one. For starters, 105mm of zoom is pathetic - it needs to reach at least 200mm, to match the SB-900. Full swivel in each direction would be nice, as would perhaps a 5th battery slot, for extra power.

SECOND COURTAIN with WIRELESS FLASH ETTL SYNC is a must. And i dont know about that 68 GN-

Im afraid about that GN68.. the power consumption have to be terrible. The Canon 580ex ii has a high demanding battery rate, and there is no battery that last long when flash its operating with ETTL Wireless as a master unit, and firing at the same time.

GN68 i guess that it will force you to buy the CANON EXTERNAL BATTERY PACK.. (that thing is overpriced by the way).

Same here. I blew a couple of hours playing with it and researching before I found that out.

Second curtain sync -- not sure what this means in the context of a flash.

Wrt radio control -- whose flavor? Radio Poppers'? Pocket Wizards? Herringbone^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^HCactus? Elinchrom? If they were to do RF triggering, I fear they'd make it proprietary :(
