After the confirmation from Canon themselves about the development of a high resolution camera, my inbox has lit up like a certain kind of tree (Merry belated Christmas and Happy New Year!). There are a lot of questions, as well as a lot of information to sort through. After these sorts of new items, I receive a lot of “wish lists” hidden has product information.

The general consensus from people I do trust is that we'll see an announcement for the camera in the first quarter of 2015. It could possibly come for CP+ in February, though I imagine there will be a ton of marketing behind the camera and it will get its own launch party. I'm just hypothesising, but I think it'll come well before NAB in April or after it. We expect a lot in the way of new Cinema EOS products, and a high resolution still camera doesn't fit in well with that show.

A few people have stressed that the sensor inside the camera will come from Canon themselves and not Sony as has been rumoured in the past. Beyond the 65 point AF, EOS 5D Mark III style body (with enhancements), resolution approaching 50mp and the 2015 announcement, there's nothing new confirmed.

I'm sure there's going to be a lot of information to sort through in the coming month or so.
