I was getting worried because the 60D info was still on the DXO site last night.
However, it’s gone now.
I still receive emails that there will be “no 60D”, it’s safe to say this confirms those emails incorrect and we should see 60D’s starting to ship in late September or into October.

Help me decide
So I bought 2 Canon 70-200 f/4L IS lens mugs off my favorite buy & sell forum.
I gave one to a great friend and my partner at Lens Rentals Canada, so there’s one up for grabs.
When I told my fiancee (28 days until the day) that I had another to give away on Canon Rumors, she lashed out in a tirade about how she deserved the mug more than all of you. She then muttered something about Nikon.
So, we’ll let the poll decide. I will say, whenever I see some for sale, I will buy them to give away.

60D Confirmation?

This may quiet the folks that keep mailing cr that there will be “no 60D”.
I checked the site hard to make sure there was no way for people to add this info, as has happened with previous DXo “leaks”.
There isn’t a D30 or 10D on this list either, so I will say it isn’t a D60 typo that can be common.

I’m told we can expect 3 new lenses to be shown off at the Canon EXPO and Photokina. Canon lauched 3 lenses with the 7D last year, so it’s not unprecedented.
A 4th lens would be announced in the November/December timeframe with a “new camera body”.
Sadly, no confirmation on which lenses will arrive.

A very good source has come out and said the 60D is just “around the corner” and will feature a flip LCD.
This was the only spec given at this time.

New Lens with the 24-70 IS?
This is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve been told about the possibility of this lens.
An EF 16-50 f/4L H-IS
Would it replace a 17-40? or be added to the lineup?
If this was sharp at the corners on full frame, would anyone ever buy a 17-40 or 16-35 II again?
With such high ISO performance now and obviously improving in the future, is a wideangle zoom at f/2.8 have much of a point anymore?
Nikon has brought about the 16-35 f/4 VR to mixed reviews, a Canon counterpart makes some sense.
Grain of salt on this one, the lens would sell exceptionally well however.
Rumor Reminder
There have been instances when CR1 rumors have become real products, a lot of truths start from stuff like this.
Also keep in mind Canon has not been busy with announcements in the last year. There were no lenses announced with the 1D Mark IV (70-200 was at a different time) and T2i.
We haven’t seen much in the way of lenses since the 7D.

Lasers can damage your Canon HDSLR camera’s CMOS sensor
An interesting story on Planet5D in regards to CMOS sensors and laser lighting.
Lasers used in a light show have damaged a Canon EOS 5D Mark II CMOS sensor and I sure didn’t know it was possible, but I thought I’d get a warning out since it appears to have damaged this guy’s sensor.

The easiest solution to the comments issue at Canon Rumors is to bring the forum back.
The forum will be very integrated into the Canon Rumors site to make it easy to comment and discuss posts. You can obviously also add your own posts.
The domain for the forum should propagate over the next 24 hours.
I will be tweaking and playing around with this. I’ve added a forum suggestion category as well. If you have ideas, please let me know.
