RIP 40D
The 40D has been removed from a couple of Canon price lists, but not all.
Canon Canada is offered refurb 40D’s to dealers, this is usually a good sign a camera is done. They carry a 90 day warranty in Canada, so be careful if you buy one.
You should see refurb bodies appearing for $749 – $799 CAD or so.
It’s still not officially discontinued by Canon.

Only 1 New DSLR? [CR2]
A different source is saying only 1 new dSLR is coming in the near future from Canon.
It's CR2 because he's a nice guy and I don't want to call him an animal.
B&H Photo has an instant rebate of $200 on the 40D, bringing the price down to $939.
Interesting part about it is it's a US only rebate, it even says so on the rebate form. However, after calling B&H to inquire, they will still honor the US rebate and ship it to Canada. The exact quote was “we can write this up somehow for you”. How they can do that is beyond me. Is this something Canon USA allows? I thought that was the purpose of different rebates in different countries. Can someone from the EU get the US rebate too?
Seems a bit like B&H is bending the rules, I could be wrong though.

1.Fixes a phenomenon in which Image Stabilization operation emits a sound when certain buttons are pressed, with the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS lens attached to the camera.
2.Fixes a phenomenon in which the Image Stabilization operation emits a sound from the lens when IS lenses are attached to the camera.
3.Fixes a phenomenon in which a part of the image looks unnatural when reviewed on the LCD.
4.Corrects errors in the Spanish and Norwegian menu screens.
