Canon Canada still shows the 40D in stock and current as body only and 17-85 kit. The 28-135 kit is “backordered”. Did they finally sell all their overstock on that lens?

Expect an announcement on August 26. The 40D will remain current.

The problem with a lot of the 50D rumors is they all quote “6.3fps”. The 40D is 6.5fps, it was DPR that found it to be 6.3.

2 new SLR's still valid
I received some good info from a very valid source. “The 40D is safe for a while”. So don't expect a replacement before Photokina.

I am certain there are 2 SLR's coming down the pipe before Photokina, it's looking like original information about 2 FF cameras is still very valid.

The other thought is they may add a 1.6 crop camera to the fold.

Stay tuned, I might upgrade this to CR4…
