We're told that the Canon EOS 6D Mark II is slated for release in the first half of 2017. Just like the EOS 5D Mark IV, solid specification information is extremely hard to come by. We are told that the new full frame DSLR will have it's own sensor, just like the EOS 6D. Beyond that, very little is known. I mention this as there has been some speculation that we'd see a 6D replacement this year, and that's just not the case.

We're also told by the same person that Canon will introduce a “new nameplate” to the EOS DSLR lineup. The camera will not be one of the prototypes Canon has shown off during the last year or so.
