You didn't have a choice for 7D APS-C!

Indeed, "traditional" 7D Mark II with APS-C is missing (even if it was not my preferred choice ... but some people might still think it could be it ...)

5Dx it isn't in there either but I reckon it's a strong contender

I said 5D III for stills, but the choice should really be for stills and video. Canon is not going to change their winning formula. The 5D III will be for both.

+1.  Actually I think we could have added the 5DX as a possible choice.  My vote would go to 5DX!

Thinking it's probably the 5D III/X for both stills and cinema, or possibly the 3D. I don't think Canon needs a 9D, seeing as by their way of naming their products, it would be between the 60D and 7D. What would they do with it to make it worth buying over the 7D?? Hmmm...  :-\

I honestly think it is a 3dx.  If I read the article correctly, the image was taken on an African Safari?  Logic would dictate that shooting an animal in the wild a camera best suited for this would have high fps rate which the 5d is not known to have.  If the 3d comes to the market (praying that it does) I would think that Canon would create the 3d as a digital still camera (no video, high fps) and a new 5d (video, slow fps).  Since I am a mere mortal, no psychic powers, it is just fun to speculate on what is coming next.

I highly doubt that Canon will release a new dSLR body - ever - that cannot shoot video.

I'm going all in on a 5D Mark III for stills.  It will still have the video recording capabilities of all the other recent DSLRs but I don't think it will be more geared towards cinema.

Should the real title of the poll be, "What model do you want the mystery Canon body to be?"

:) I  was thinking of that as I was looking at the results.  The results reminded me of a lot of the comments I've read over the past few days.

If the 3d comes to the market (praying that it does) I would think that Canon would create the 3d as a digital still camera (no video, high fps) and a new 5d (video, slow fps).

What is this insistence on Canon creating a camera without video? I can understand stills photographers frustration at R&D effort into DSLR video that could be spent on other features (but don't forget the extra revenue that Canon makes from video users), but to not have a feature in one camera in the range that is in all the others seems a bit daft.  Video is not a feature that I use, but why would I object to something that is free? Does an extra switch/button that you don't use really bother you that much? You must seriously have a grudge against the almighty about the male nipple thing!  :)
