Might seem superfluous, but it makes sense.  There are some people that (if they owned a DSLR) would only use live view all the time.  Those people don't care.

Dude, the A3300 IS has 16 megapixels, a 5x zoom, and it comes in five different colors.  What's an ISO, anyway?   :P

Haha!

This camera having 9.1 MP almost 2 years makes the A3300 look very justified having 16 MP.

So much for the A-series being replaced in CES... no rumors are correct anymore, even entry level P&S cameras :(

That example picture on the A2200 has amazingly smooth bokeh for an entry-level point and shoot. But I'm sure it was really taken with the actual camera and its tiny sensor -- no marketing department so dishonest as to use a picture taken with another camera (or a 'shopped image) for promotional material like that  ::)

The PowerShot A590 is turning in its grave... where is a cheap Canon with PASM?! Why does Canon need to price the cheapest at $230 (last-generation SX120 IS)?

I'm not complaining for myself - I'm using an SX10 IS. But for example... a friend of mine got a "job" as a school newsletter photog. All his pics were "eh". I tried to see what I could do, but with just P it's pretty hard (SD1200 IS used).

mmm.... interesting to note that the Powershot A1200
actually has an optical view finder embedded. The shutter
release and wheel also seems a lot bigger for the size of
the camera body.

Those are definitely browny points for DC users (especially
older people).
