Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals

The Black Friday and Cyber Monday  barrage of deals appears over, however we should still see lots of deals going throughout December and into January.

I have added a page to the site that will show the deals currently offered by retailers, I will be updating it regularly.

I'm getting pommelled with deals for Black Friday, but holding fast.  Its too easy to buy something I don't need on a whim.  In fact, I think this is a good time to sell a bunch of seldom used gear.

I don't know much about flash photography, it seems you either need 2 of these to use as a master and slave or a transmitter on the camera. What's a good transmitter to get and how much do they cost?

Correct. You need at least two to take advantage of the radio capability or buy the Canon ST-E3-RT transmitter. Trouble is, it costs at least $285 and doesn't even have focus assist. The rumored Yongnuo clone supposedly will have more functionality than the Canon and, presumably, cost less.

Ive been using the YN 622 triggers which I like. You can use the cameras flash menu to change settings remotely.

it looks like you can get one for $82 on amazon. so you could put one of those on the 6d hotshoe and then configure, control and fire the flash remotely?

ps. is there any way to control a flash remotely with the 6d's built in wifi function?

Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS II via B&H Photo $1899</a> (Reg. $2499) after Mail-in Rebate

The rebate is for $300 which would make the lens $2199. Is there another rebate somewhere to get t down to $1899?

Amazon has the EF 100mm f/2.8L for $875. Now subtract the $150 rebate that comes to $725!  (I'm assuming the rebate is applicable -- no experience there.)

It's $2099 when you add to the cart, with MIR, it's $1899

Just bought it  ;D  I dealt with Canon rebates before, and I read the fineprint on this one. It's applicable. PLUS, you get 4% back from amazon. Good deal if there ever was one.

Oh newegg.com, they're gonna have LR5 on sale for $69.99 after 10:00AM - 12:59PM PT.

Part of their daily shell shocker deals:

Amazon has the Canon 6d with the kit lens for 2084 shipped.

http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Digital-Camera-3-0-Inch-EF24-105mm/dp/B009B0MZG2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1386007737&sr=8-2&keywords=canon+6d (http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Digital-Camera-3-0-Inch-EF24-105mm/dp/B009B0MZG2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1386007737&sr=8-2&keywords=canon+6d)

No need for rebates or anything else.  Plus, you get 4% back in 35 days to use anywhere on Amazon (except for electronics).

So the effective price is 2k.  I just pulled the trigger as this is the best deal I've found on the 6d with kit lens to date that doesn't require a mail in rebate.

B&H is now matching this price for their bundle:

  http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/892354-REG/Canon_8035b009_EOS_6D_Digital_Camera.html (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/892354-REG/Canon_8035b009_EOS_6D_Digital_Camera.html)

They add a 16GB card, third-party battery, monopod, and a Canon bag.  They have a 2% reward thing as opposed to 4% at Amazon.  The real benefit to me was sales tax though, which Amazon charges in my state but B&H doesn't.  Good enough to get my order!

I had no problems downloading Lightroom PC on amazon  US.  This year or last year but I am a prime member and likely addicted to Amazon.  I am currently updating to 5.2 as I type this.

5.2? You're living in the stone age!
I just downloaded Lightroom 5.3 RC(!!!!) after buying the online DL from newegg last night for 80 bucks(China time.)
Spent all morning fiddling with updates, finally got it all set up on my new laptop so I can edit my Sony a7 RAW files. I'm having a blast!
and I didn't even have to wait for Black Friday to get an a7 and 28-70mm kit along with a Sony 32gb SD card, extra Sony battery and tons of other freebies for 1700 bucks(300 bucks cheaper than the kit alone in the US!) This is one of the only items ever to be cheaper in China than the US!

It went on and off, I didn't expect it to come back. The core problem I had at first was becoming a US customer.
But apparently providing "my" US address does that. And because it's downloaded, Obama will never receive a boxed version of LR5 that he should redirect to me.  ;)

Rokinon FE14M-C 14mm F2.8 via BuyDig/eBay $279 (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5574981434&toolid=10001&campid=5337424330&customid=&icep_item=321265385283&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229466&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg) (Reg $339)

Alas, it's now $319! Still cheaper than competitors but now uneconomic to ship across the seas (where I am)  :(
