A recent August 2012 wedding. Highlight tone priority is your friend! It was used for this image.

Stunning image with the couple and car, looks HDR and two lights. Is that how you set it up? I like how her dress looks and the paint of the car. Whats the story with the ominous clouds? What happened that day?

No HDR.  The light on their rights was just. The sun sneaking through the clouds, then the other side of them was lit by two speedlites through a shoot-thrgh umbrella.

I definitely edited it afterwards, but it came out pretty close to that straight out of the camera.

Sorry for ruining the party but doesnt the focus look off in many of these? What is wrong with the color? What is it with wedding photographers and messed up light room filters. Why would you want to make your 5DMk3 look like it was shot with your fathers (or grandfathers) Yashica with the wrong WB Agfa film?

+1
People hire photographers who have certain styles because of those styles. More than likely they get the normal color version as well as the edited one. That's how i do it at least.

Mor ethan likely they get the normal color version as wel as the edited one. Thats how i do it at least.

I would hope so! than to be stuck a crappy style that some dude thought was a great 'style' last decade. Is that like ugly is the new beautiful? I recall  another photographer on these forums posted his wedding pics that were shot on his brand new 5d3, they were overly hazy and was discussing that the client was so pissed off they demanded the RAW files and their money back for ruining their wedding pics.  We are partly responsible for promoting what good looks like. Soon enough other are going to want it. A gain I must apologize for being honest here. I cant tell you how many times i have see lightroom filters for sale and wonder why would anyone want their pics to look like that. We are going to get over this Instagram mentality and to me the sooner the better. BTW my comments in this post are not about the photographs posted here. Its about wedding photography in general.

This picture and the tones are what i am going for in some of my images like the bride by the piano i posted above. Although i am not a fan of all the wacky colors and tones, what people do is their right and how they interpret is also their right. If you have constructive criticism try that. Your comments come off more like a rant lol. Although i am also guilty of a good rant from time to time lol.

Most informed wedding couples would research the photographers they are considering and be aware of their style. Likewise they and a responsible wedding photographer would meet before hand to discuss what they wanted and how much leeway to give, they would also formulate a shot list of images that had to be done. Personally, I quite like the styles (I didn't look closely at the focus) and if everyone shot in the same style it would get pretty boring without any choice. Photography would stagnate and noone would have a reason for anyone to hire them above another photographer. In business it's all about finding something that nobody else offers.

I am not a professional photographer and I am still learning how to take good pics as well as edit them to perfections.

I ran into this site http://www.dickyleung.com/#/Home/ (http://www.dickyleung.com/#/Home/) click "Portfolio" at the bottom page.

This is a really good site with a lot of nice pics to reflect great colors, accurate white balance, styles, etc. I think this is a good example of what a paid pro wedding photographer should produce ;-)

Have fun guys!

Thanks robbymack. That was actually her idea to have pictures like that for her upcoming husband (shot in the morning before ceremony). :) He had not seen them yet. It is birthday preset for him, she told me. :)

keithfullermusic: She gave me a permission. And actually she already posted them online on Czech public wedding page. I just can not post them to my facebook page (as all the others), before his birthday, because he is friend of mine and he should not see them yet. :)

Never ever post anything without permission by my client.

Very nice.
One slight thing that came to mind on the video....I might have ducked the volume of the music down a good bit more while the groom was speaking near the beginning so you could hear him better.....?
But again, quite nice!!

really nice shots Hugo and rhommel.  Hugo, not sure what bride let you shoot her in boudoir but that is one lucky groom.   ;)

Thanks robbymack. That was actually her idea to have pictures like that for her upcoming husband (shot in the morning before ceremony). :) He had not seen them yet. It is birthday preset for him, she told me. :)

Damn! All I ever get is socks...

Just my opinion... I guess you're also "stuck" with the thoughts that everybody just want the "standard" way of photography.  There are no said rules about how wedding photography should look like.  Wedding photography just like any photography is considered as an ART.  ART is a very subjective topic.  Your interpretation might not be the same as mine.  I think the final judgement would still be from the client themselves who paid for it.  If you think going "standard" is your style, then go for it.  As for some here who are orthodox in their style, I don't think they are wrong either.  To each their own...  Just like fashion (and art), standards will change from time-to-time.

Some great shots guys.  I just got a 5DIII for a wedding I'm shooting on Feb 15th.  :).  I needed a "2nd" camera in addition to my 6D.  Of course with the better AF system, this will be my primary camera.

Just a little constructive criticisim....

On the last two of the bride, near pool table and out doors...she's a bit heavy set, and my thoughts are that posing her and shooting up at her from below, accentuates her largeness a bit, where the same thing shot maybe from higher, and maybe get her to kick her weight and hip back from the camera might be a little more flattering to her figure?

Other than that, loved the shots, the look and all was quite nice.

HTH,
