Lenses / Re: Andy Rouse Reviews the EF 200-400 f/4L IS 1.4x

It seems like a very nice lens. I have to ask myself though, if his only other choice were using the 100-400 how much different would these shots look? Sure the ISO8000 shots wouldn't have been possible at f/5.6. I guess what I'm saying is that it seems like a lot of money to gain one stop and IQ. This lens is 10x the cost of the 100-400, but is it 10x a better lens? It will be very interesting to see what an updated 100-400 will bring.

The shots look good, man. Did you use the kit lens? This crowd would like to see some ISO 800,1600,3200, and 6400 shots with out noise reduction if you get the chance.

Pricewatch Deals / Re: Canon EOS Rebel SL1 in Stock at B&H Photo

Has anyone figured out if this is a new sensor with better noise characteristics? DXOMark says the T5i has identical performance to the T4i...not that I believe DXOMark testing fairly represents image quality in absolute terms... I would just expect them to show different results with a new sensor. Is the SL1 using the same sensor as the T5i?

Lenses / Re: EF 300mm f/2.8 ( non IS ) AF ISSUES

Please let us know what you find out. I have a 400mm f/2.8 Mk II that is no longer serviced by Canon and I worry about the day when I have AF problems with it.

Hey, on this subject...anyone have any ideas on variations for this I could try? I'm going try adding food coloring and then two balloons at the same time with different colors in each to see if I can get a mixing effect.

Hi all....

Thank you so much....

It was great lighting at the time.....the colour I got from Canon DPP. No Photoshop touch.

Thanks.

Andre Arment.

With lighting like that, it must have been an amazing day. Thanks for replying!

I don't know I think it's better than the original image in this thread.

if your serious then i not only pity your taste but wonder about how you can ignore the technical flaws in the composit.    ;D

Of course I wasn't Some of the people in this thread seemed to be unaware of this technique, so I spent 30 seconds searching for a tutorial that would give them the basic idea. You seemed to miss the point when you thanked me for the crap example.

lol.. yeah thanks for that crap looking example.

even when i take my glasses of it still looks like a bad composit... that is hard to achive.

I don't know I think it's better than the original image in this thread.

I did a reverse image search and it led me back to the photographer's page. I didn't see a description, but maybe one of you can dig. It is categorized as Conceptual:

I'm telling you, the background wall of trees, the tree at right at the middle distance in the beam of light, the island of trees, the boat....those are all completely separate photos composited and blended beautifully.

have a look at this tutorial: http://photoshoptutorials.ws/photoshop-tutorials/photo-manipulation/create-this-breathtaking-photo-manipulation-of-a-tightrope-dancer-in-photoshop/
