5D MK III Sample Images / Re: Ultra long daytime exposures - 5D mkiii

Nice shots, Ryan.  I know a lot of long exposure shots tend to have a colour cast, but I kind of enjoy it - assuming it fits the scene as it does here.  Long exposures and colour casts both tend to sit well with sunsets.

Thanks Pedro and Raddy.  Yeah they ain't cheap those filters are they?  Still, it'd be worth it to get the best filter given the amount I've already invested in good IQ with the 5D3 & 16-35mm.  It just doesn't make sense to put a crappy filter in front of good glass.  Will save my pennies.

@Schruminator - nice shot.  Something about these long exposures that just brings gorgeous colour & contrast.

Before I got my 5D3, I played with a 10 stop ND that I used on my old 1000D + 10-22mm.  One of the better results below.  You're right Alex, there does seem to be some sort of increase in DR going on with these images - the one below is straight off the camera.

One thing that would be good to know is: does anyone have any recommendations for a 10 stop ND filter for an 82mm thread, e.g. for the 16-35mm L?  I couldn't seem to find them when I looked a while ago.

Third Party Manufacturers / Re: Sigma Launches the Sigma USB DOCK

Ah ok, thanks :)

Yes, it mounts onto the bayonet mount of the lens, and allows communication between a computer and the lens for things like firmware updates, AF tweaks, setting the focus limiter limits, and things like that.

Forgive my ignorance, but from the description of this USB Dock, I have no idea what this product is, or how it is used.  Does it mount onto a lens or something?
