Lenses / Re: Canon 70-200 F/2.8 IS II vs. Tamron 70-200 F/2.8 VC

I had the chance to attach the 70-200 F2.8 lenses from Canon, Tamron and Sigma to my camera last weekend. While this was only at a trade show booth and a couple quick shots are not nearly enough to write anything even close to resembling a review, the one thing I did notice was that the AF on the Tamron seemed to be the slowest. They all seemed very similarly sharp though.

I would like to appreciatively defy all odds and have the grandiose opportunity to carry my gear in the formidable devices fabricated by Gura.

Lenses / Re: Samyang 24 TS confirmed for Photokina!

Anyone at Photokina have any updates for this lens in regards to pricing and availability by chance?

I second the f-stop gear suggestion. I actually own a Loka, but it may too big for a city bag. But they do have some smaller bags available.

Also, look at this InCase bag:
It fits a 5D Mark II with grip and a few lenses plus has a pouch specifically for the iPad. Its pricey, but InCase fairly often has some promotions/coupons/deal for up to 50% off.

Good luck with your search (I know it took me several months and attempts to find something I'm happy with)!

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon 5D Mark III/X Commercials Being Shot? [CR1]

"One film is about making a cinematic piece with the camera"

Not a good sign.

All commercials on DSLRs should be about photography. NOT about making films.

They are targeting the wrong customers. Save the video stuff for the HV-camcorder line.

Can you imagine a commercial (usually a 20-30 sec spot) about shooting landscape or portrait photography? While the camera itself may be great for still photography, a TV spot is probably not the best medium to advertise that. It is much better suited for action photography and video features.
