Lenses / Re: TS-E 45mm & TS-E 90mm Finally Getting Replaced? [CR1]
« on: March 16, 2013, 10:01:38 PM »
Supposedly, teleconverters are compatible with the TS-E lenses, so would a 1.4x on the 24mm give you a solution?

Thanks danski.  You are quite right.  I have used it before and it's pretty good.  I'd just prefer the option of a 35 TS if they'd make one.

Looking forward to the announcement, with my fingers crossed!  :)

Can't wait!

My dream solution would be TS 35, TS 50, TS 85 or 90.

I use the entire TS lineup, but would love to have something in between normal and 24mm.

The gap is pretty large right now.

35mm is a great focal length, and obviously very popular.  I'd think it might sell well?

I shoot interiors and architecture btw.

Also it appears the 1Ds Mk3 is not available anymore for comparison in the RAW section.

It was there very recently.  Why leave up the 1D3 and 1D4 but no 1Ds3?

I'm guessing they look too similar at 100iso?

I am a 1Ds3 owner, so have been wondering if it was worth it to upgrade.

AH!  Looks like the Nikon D800 will be 36MP!  Just posted to NR and Engadget.

Hope Canon goes for the same.  Would love more resolution for bigger prints.

How big are you planning to print where 21mp is not enough??

As big as possible!!!  (4'x5' is prob the biggest I'd want.)  Besides fine art prints, I shoot commercial architecture, so more detail can't hurt there either.

There is a funny gap between medium format and 35mm sensors right now that I think Canon and Nikon could capitalize on.  For most commercial jobs high iso isn't very important, nor is video.  So if they decided to split the models to save costs, I think there would be a market for it.

If that's important to you, maybe the announcement on Nov 3 will cheer you up. :)

Ethernet is great.

Ethernet locks and can be run over long distances, both very helpful.

I can't tell you how many times the USB connection has gone down on set.  And we always have to use extensions.

That being said, I still want more megapixels.

Imagine this will be very smooth though.
