Lenses / Re: When is the New 100-400 Coming?
« on: May 16, 2013, 10:21:34 AM »
Sounds promising good to improve on a good lens with improve optics, USM and IS.   Hope it is twist zoom and that Canon's not copying Nikon's price of their 80-400 AFS VR.   If they price is at same as the Sony 70-400 MK II then this will be ideal.

Expect re-designs for these 2 lenses lighter like what Canon did with the recent updates to 400 f2.8, 500 & 600 F4.

One negative is that prices of these 2 lenses will go up and the 800 f5.6 may be similar or higher in price to the Nikon.

Could be time to buy to buy these lenses before they're replaced.

Thanks all.. good for Canon and for few months as well - that 5D MK 3 seems tempting...

A small selection of gear but better than Nikon is/or has offered and on more things + larger rebate.   The 5D MK 3 looks tempting and its a shame it is only running for 3 weeks.

Looking good to be returning to build of 40d/50d hope it is in same body as the 7d and would come with Wi-fi and GPS like the great 6D.

Hope Nikon is following and release a D400 with those 2 features Wi-fi & Gps without coughing up few hundred ££ for optional extras and also giving some pressure to Canon to release the Canon 7d MK 2.

Will be good development to have 3 5D variants; one the classic 22mp (current), one 40mp with AA Filter and one without hopefully Canon can retain the same fps as the current one.

Will be a winner and just need few of the older lens need updating

What I cannot see is a market for a D4x being same sensor as the D800/e and being 2-3 more expensive just for a pro body and few more fps.
