Anyone own or know how these Rodenstock Circular Polarizers compare to B+W?

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Off camera flash cords

Anyone have any trouble with Syl's OCF gear before? I went ahead and ordered the product and paid via PayPal a week ago.. I received an immediate email saying i should be looking for a USPS tracking confirmation number along with my order number. I ordered the product under the assumption all cables are "in stock" according to their website. I have yet to receive my tracking confirmation or product for that matter. I've contacted them via email a few days ago and have yet to get a reply.  :(  They have no contact numbers listed anywhere on the site. Ugh... Has anyone else experienced this?

Lighting / Re: The Flash Bracket? Do they really matter anymore?

I don't really know anything about bracket or flash photography for that matter. I'm just getting started and my new flash is expect to arrive friday!  :D

I came across these brackets by ProMediaGear.

They look kind of trick and seem simple to operate. In all honesty my knowledge is zero though. Lol

I appreciate the responses! I went ahead and splurged on the OCF33' cord as I really didn't want to wait a month for Hong Kong version. Thanks again...

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Off camera flash cords
« on: June 04, 2012, 09:25:50 PM »
I'm beginning my journey into flash photography now as i've recently purchased the new 600ex speedlight. I really like to dive in and take the flash off and move it around however the st-e3-rt seems to be out of stock everywhere and I hate paying premiums to get it now and i'm better served to wait IMO..

This brings me to my question. Has anyone had experience with off camera flash cords in the past? I recently came across these ones made by OCF http://ocfgear.com/cords-for-canon-ettl/ettl-cord-extra-long/ which are recommended in Syl Arena's Pixsylated. What I liked about them was how long they are giving me some added flexibility. Would this be a viable option for me to learn in the mean time till i'm eventually able to get the st-e3-rt transmitter and go completely wireless?

Completely different question... Has anyone had the opportunity to test out the Honl Traveller8 softbox? Seems kind of pricey but a nice setup to have. Or would you recommend any other particular diffuser like the Sto-fen?

Thanks,
Flash Rookie.

Video & Movie / Re: Real Estate Listing Video 5D mkIII and 60D

Not to pry, but I will - did it pay enough for it to be worth your time and a good project?  I've always been a little worried to get involved with real estate agents - seems like they would never pay well and be difficult.

I've come across this recently as well. A client has asked me to do a community video and I refuse to sell myself short. I was told realtors can't afford that price but he's adamant on wanting me to do it. Unfortunately it's not a two way street for his expected budget.

Great video! If you don't mind me asking what does a client pay for something like that?

Also when it comes to interior photography I definitely recommend TSE lenses and you can keep everything vertical as they appear visually.

Great work none the less!

Software & Accessories / Re: Tripod Suggestions
« on: May 17, 2012, 11:41:26 AM »
Can someone recommend me a quality ball head? I recently splurged into quality equipment and picked up some Gitzo GT3531 legs the other day brand new for $500. It's more tripod that I need but for the price I couldn't say no.

As far as the ball heads go I know RRS, Markins, Kirk are all probably the way of choice and I have this bad habit were I always have to buy the best now. Haha. I'm shooting with a 5d3 (eventually gripped) and the longest lens I own at the moment is a 70-200. Down the road I plan on venturing into bigger lenses but for the time being i've spent enough cash. Can someone point me in the proper direction before is spend another $450 on a ball head overkill to complete with my new Gitzo 3series tripod or should I just suck it up and never look back!

Decisions decisions.

Am I the only one that read the title and thought a serious incident had happened during filming? I seriously thought someone died during the filming or something.

This is really interesting to me. Has anyone in this forum performed any sort of Light Painting? I've been itching to try but this has me sketched out. Is there a special type of lighting that is recommended for use so the sensor isn't harmed? Are LED's acceptable or will this same problem arise?

Yikes.....

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: 5D Mark III queue at BestBuy
« on: March 25, 2012, 04:24:04 PM »
Well boys. I never pre-ordered the camera but I will tell you I am a new proud owner of a Mark III. I was tipped by some employees that work at Best Buy which location would have some in stock. I jetted over to the location first thing this morning and received the only one they received. The store put in for 3 however only one came. Not only was I able to purchase the camera today but I received a special 10% off any single item coupon due to my birthday month that I was able to apply towards the purchase of my camera!  :P 18months free financing was an added bonus! After tax and discount it came in just below the $3499 price tag. One happy camper here! Best of luck to you all and happy shooting!

Lol. I actually just ordered one of these bad boys a couple days ago. Came to $59 after shipping. I wasn't willing to shell out a couple hundred dollars for a discontinued SanDisk or Lexar.

Canon General / Re: Canon footage in Nikon promo
« on: February 19, 2012, 02:15:40 PM »
All the snowboarding footage in the promo is from the Art of Flight movie. The movie was shot with an array of cameras including the Canon EOS 7D. However none of the footage used Nikons. A very questionable PR move by Nikon.  ???
