only 54MP? My PC is dying when PP A7R files

Dylan...I was wondering, is that why you moved off of the A7R and got the 1DX?  Sorry if I missed the discussion in another thread....

Still have the 7r. The X handles larger lenses better.

Same config here. :)

Lenses / Tamron 150-600 f/5-6.3 Di VC USD - Canon Mount - Any news?
« on: May 01, 2014, 09:42:00 PM »
Has anyone actually received this lens yet? I preordered mine here in Canada several months ago, but no sign yet! I thought that with the Nikon announcement, some movement might be taking place but no emails from any of the big ones like Vistek or B&H saying they have arrived for Canon yet.

Not jumping ship but picked up the A7R and the Zeiss 55 and the Zeiss 35. Love it. Also the Metabones adapter and it works well with my L lenses tested so far. It will accompany my 1DX when I travel and be my Landscape focus.  So far I love it.

Hilarious statement. Why care what anyone uses for settings unless you are looking to problem solve a particular issue? If it works for you, great. When I talk to a new photographer or a beginner, I "suggest" some options....  :)

PS, I love the auto ISO implementation on my 1DX ;)

Canon General / Re: CPS Canada Shipping

Purolator returned my 1DX this morning from CPS. Everything seems fine. No 'splatter' on the mirror or sensor. Pretty fast fix and return.  :)

Just sent my 1DX to Canon Canada for the service notice, via Purolator per CPS Bill of Lading. I already gave the feed back to Canon but would like some feedback. When you send via Prepaid CPS, you can't insure your equipment. If you could insure, you are limited to $5000 and shipping at your expense. Has your business insurance ever covered loss or damage if loss or damage occurred?

This may seem like a dumb question but I wonder if I count the zero as the first number in the serial?  or first number, not zero?

I guess I could call LOL

If you need it, or want it and can afford it, grab it. If you always wait for the next best thing, well, you might never buy. I love mine. :)

Could those with problems identify Mac or Windows?

Getting same error on 5D3. Can't update. Removed lens, reformatted card, downloaded again, same errors. stalls at about 66 % or get the thousand percent number.(on a Mac by the way). Removed lens, and battery grip, was able to get out of the try again cycle and all ok with other lenses, so far. Pancake a bust for now.

Update: seeing some comments in other forums that install issue might be related to Mac and Mountain Lion and additional hidden file?
