No 14-bit RAW or AdobeRGB; boo-hiss!
I'm always amazed that people care about how a camera looks. It doesn't take pictures of itself.
Made me extremely sad once again, when I saw this shadow recovery by Canon compared to others.
I don't like the tripod mount being on the backside of the backpack for some reasons:
- The heavier the part, the closer it should be to you.
Sure enough, your fancy carbon basalt titanium mithril Tripod is not actually heavy, but admittedly, with a proper head on top of it, one cannot deny that there still is some weight to the whole thing.
All that equipment dangling far away from you is not very comfortable.
I do find it a bit worrisome that it has been literally years and years since Canon has even bothered to mention the word DR. I wonder if they don't have all their eggs in more MP and dual-pixel AF and who cares about DR. DR would probably cost more outlay, the other stuff they can get away with on ancient fabs...
Also be aware that despite the marketing promises, the weatherproofing on the 5Diii is not great.
Mine died in conditions that my 1D Mk iv would not have batted an eyelid at (light rain). The repair charges were less than I expected (£250), but they had to replace two circuit boards.
