Share any landscapes / seascapes taken with telephoto lenses.  Here's one taken with the canon 70-300mm L,  really like this lens for landscapes.

Nice shot andersde!

I was just saying in another thread that the 100L was pretty good for action shots.  Think this backs that up nicely as ducks aren't exactly the easiest of birds to capture in flight.

Thanks.   The 6d's only a recently addition for me but I've been pleasantly surprised how many keepers I'm getting with it and the 100mm L  for 'action' shots.  For this one I got lucky on the timing,  was just on a bridge over a lake as a number of these ducks just took off straight over our heads.   Shot a burst and almost every shot in the burst was reasonably focused.

Lenses / Re: 17-40 VS 17-55
« on: October 24, 2013, 02:24:58 AM »
Given the choice, I'd rather have a faster lens than a weather sealed esp if the body isn't sealed either.

Ask yourself If you are person who looks after their other electronic gear such mobile phone, iPad, lap top etc etc do you end up replacing them constantly? As long as you (reasonably) take care of 17-55 you should be ok.

This is a really good point.   Too often we see a lens knocked because of 'build quality' issues or lack of weather sealing.     Unless you need to shoot in poor weather conditions or are particularly hard on your gear it's just not necessary.   You should go for the lens that gives the best results for what you need.

For crop I'd choose one of canon 17-55,  sigma 18-35 or 15-85.

For the hospital itself i'd say the sigma and the 50mm should have you covered.

After that i'd agree the 85 would be a good choice.    The length will be great for a new born.

I  used the 100mmL myself almost exclusively (on crop) for my sons first few months.  In the hospital I found 50mm was perfect.

Also consider getting some extension tubes for some close ups!
