PowerShot / Re: Canon PowerShot G1 X II Final Specifications

I love my G1 X as both a photo and video camera. However, this doesn't seem to be nearly enough improvement to even consider buying one.

Yep, 20% VAT in the UK. As for fuel tax, don't go there

I can't say I worry TOO much about shadow detail and I hate the way Nikon cameras feel, so I'm not worried

I have used the G1 X for action, just not action that involves much movement nearer or further from the lens. The 2.2fps or so can make things difficult though. The Image quality is very good, so you can safely pop the ISO up to raise the shutter speed. However, I have to agree, that a DSLR could be better.

Moving to the 6d is what I'll likely do, as I'm fairly used to MF and I have a proper focusing camcorder if I don;t wish to.

Hi everyone, I'm from South England.

The DPAF seems to be very good. It's making me question my choice of buying a canon XH-A1 camcoder recently. However, the 'Instant AF' on the XH-A1 works in a way like Phase AF and does keeo up and tracki fairly well from the testing I've done so far.

EOS-M / Re: Mount EF, EF-S or L lens on EOS-M --- Your thought???

I'm actually really tempted about doing a setup similar to one mentioned on another post: the sigma 18-35 on the EOS M. Currently I have a G1 X and an 1100d and primarily use the G1 X due to its size. I have a few lenses for the 1100d, 60mm macro, 70-300 tamron non-vc, 50 1.8, which I could use on the EOS M. However, I'm more looking at keeping the 22mm prime on it if I decide to go that route, but still having the ability to use my other lenses if I wish.
