Street & City / Street Candids - Bangla Youth
« on: September 16, 2014, 10:13:26 PM »
A regular event.......I am spotted sporting a camera. "Take our picture". You will regret it I say, once I start I don't stop. Eventually, they beg to be allowed to go home....and I have what I want.  There was a bottle of cheap brandy feeding their bravado, and they spoke in that peculiar Bangla-Gangsta accent with all the hand jive moves.  All in all, they were a reasonable bunch and respectful of my vast seniority over their precocious youth

The Hanningfield Interceptors

As you can imagine, the exposure for this shot was heavily bracketed (i.e 30s to 1/250th over 2 days and 2 shots!!    :0)

The original backing to the swans was very uninspiring and I was so pleased with the sharpness of the shot and the pov that I went back and got the sunset.  So, both shots mine...combined using "blend if" in PS.

1/4 to 10. Sun was well over the yard arm.  Amazing what the 6d could pick up over Hanningfield  reservoir

Great series petach. The sun in the lats picture is awesome.

thanks, appreciated.  An even bigger and better sun last night but.....for the first time..... had no camera with me.  The sun was a huge red end of the world type red ball going down in a blaze of glory

Lovely lovely shots.
The baby seems to be under stress in one or two shots. I am not a christian nor do I know the ceremony and am wondering why the baby seems stressed.
I am sure all is in good faith.

Thank you for your comments re the shots.  Re the distress.  Most babies cry when they are held by a stranger and dunked into water.  In her case, it was a show of temper.....she is quite a wilful little madam.  She was all smiles later and has likely forgotten it all.

Street & City / 85mm f/1.2 does street on a 6d.

85mm f1/2 does street on a 6d.
Not my usual combo (Ricoh gar with Zeiss 21mm biogon) but here goes

have had this cracking lens for a few months now.  It spends a lot of time on my 6d full frame.  Just a few of my own fave shots with this lens.  The f/1.2 can be a noose around the neck.....trying to get perfection with this non IS lens and Parkinsons tremor when hand held.

Thanks guys, would have preferred to have been there at high tide but will probably revisit soon.

Nick

I like the low tide and the texture the l/h foreshore gives to the shot.  Much more interesting than a sheet glass effect across the whole picture.

ook this in Katoomba in the Blue Mountain region in Australia back in 2010 with a 50d.  Probably should have kept more of the instrument in the shot for context.....but I was more interested in the face and texture of his hair etc
