I noticed it after I got home from taking some photos of my daughter and niece at a local park. The weather turned for the worse and we got rained out, so I had water on the camera as well as my hand.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Zinc reported on 60d yet?

I noticed a white buildup on the grip of my 60D today. It's not bothering my skin or anything, but I figured I would share. Here is a cell phone capture of the buildup.

EOS Bodies / Re: Poll: What will be the price of first EOS M?

I voted 600 to 800. I'm a little optimistic though. I'm willing to pay 600 for a 22mm kit. Something tells me cannon is going to release it at much more than that though. I'm really interested in eventually getting one of these, but if it can't be price competitive with the NEX system, then what's the point really?

EOS Bodies / Re: 5D Mk III Owners - are you happy?

The AF is amazing.  As a professional wedding photog, this is exactly the camera I was looking for.

If I could change anything would be to take the megapixels down to 16-18 or so, but I'm thrilled with my new Mark III

I just don't get comments like this. Why not just switch it down to RAW medium or Raw small if you want less mp? Is there something special about the sensor itself physically having less mp? Are you looking for photo sites more spread out on the sensor? I don't get it. Personally I love my 5dmIII. I have no complaints. I tried the II and I did love it, but was a bit worried about using it in wetter conditions(rain or drizzle) and the auto-focus just wasn't what I expected for over 2g's. I think the mark III was worth the wait and although I would have loved a lower price point, not at the cost of any of the features it has. If this is what it takes to make a good well rounded camera, then it is money well spent.

I did a bunch of shooting with the 50 1.4 and after applying the lens correction in lightroom the images would get significantly brighter.

EOS Bodies / Re: Amazon - Bezo's lame response...

My plans were screwed by Amazon this time as well. Today I picked up a camera at a local shop and ate the tax. It was painful but with my goal acheived, I can focus on more important, cleaning, damage control on the wife :P

This isn't going to make me stop using Amazon, but has taught me a very important lesson. When you order from them, you may be getting a good price, but you are not just relying on Amazon. You are relying suppliers behind the scenes, Amazon, and of course UPS(who can suddenly decide that your address is undeliverable and return it to amazon).

I think as it was already said, you need to build up a profile of Amazon and what they can reliable get to you. Anything that is of super high priority might be a bad idea to get from them. I know there is some video games coming out later this year I want on day 1 and I'm considering if I should use them or not, but the alternative is Gamestop :(

That's what I keep going back and forth with in my head. The sales tax is like 210 on this thing. I can afford it, but really don't want to pay it. I also don't want to go through any more BS trying to get this thing shipped to me. Too many games being played on the internet, Amazon at the top. All this searching is taking valuable time I really should be doing other things with.

to be honest, it seems like the lens sells easily on ebay, so either one would be good, especially if I could get a saturday delivery.

It's getting late, Norman isn't shipping any more out today and I just cancelled my Amazon order. I need to find a west coast store I can order from that is still shipping.

ROFL, 6am PST! I placed my order 3am est! That would be midnight pst. I got a six hour lead on The19th's order yet his got shipped and my order is doesn't have any updated at all, no shipping soon or anything. Honestly, I'm glad you got your camera and enjoy, but this just doesn't make sense how they cherry picked these orders. I wonder if they were all west coast orders? If east coast orders are getting fulfilled too, then I just don't understand. I made a huge mistake buying a $500 gift card to avoid my debit card delaying for fraud prevention. Now I'm completely confused and pissed off, unsure of my next move. I have enough cash to order somewhere else, but I really don't need the $500 sitting there in gift funds and I can't get a refund on that either it seems. It's kind of amazing that such an expensive camera would have such a huge demand in a depressed economy.

I feel like they are not serving up orders on a first come, first serve basis. I really hope they get me a saturday delivery. This was the perfect week for me to get a delivery, with my girlfriend on spring break and able to make sure it's picked up. I guess if I decide to get the next best crop sensor to replace my 60d, I know who's going to get it out...after hong kong that is :P

I got my email at 3:20pm est on march 2. Still no shipping or charge on my card :( I'm going crazy with anxiety.

I haven't bothered amazon yet, but I put my bid in on 3/2 at about 3am est, no word from them yet. I would really like to have it for the weekend.
