EOS Bodies / Re: Possible Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Spec Talk [CR2]

18 MP sounds really intriguing.

If this camera was able to achieve ISO 3400 or greater on DXOMark's rating scale, that would be tremendous.

If Canon can pull that off and get its read noise issues under control, I could see myself buying two of these cameras.

Announced in August? Bummer!

That means I wouldn't get to use it for the 2015 wedding season. :(

Every time I get excited about a replacement for the 5D3, I'm always disappointed by these high-MP rumors.

It's easy to fall into the bigger=better trap, but I don't want to deal with files that are roughly 9000x6000.

And before anyone brings up the mRAW/sRAW debate, it's not a viable option for what I do.

I think Tamron will probably sell 10x as many 15-30mm lenses as Canon sells of this thing.

If they were able to match (or possibly even surpass Sony's current sensors) I would buy a 5D Mark IV in a heartbeat!

I'm concerned about the locking wheel not being strong enough.

I use a carry strap that attaches to the tripod mount and I would hate to see my camera fall to its death.

Has anybody else received one of these grips?

Now that you've had it for six months, what can you tell us about the ownership experience?

That same company is working on a grip for the 6D and I'm wondering if people should trust them.

I'm really hoping for a new 50mm EF lens.

What did you use the 100-400mm for?

I wonder if stores like Best Buy have been instructed to update the firmware of their current stock.

I'm curious to see how the bokeh compares between the 40mm and the 50mm so could you please put together a direct comparison (scene for scene) under a variety of conditions?

Bonus Challenge: Include the 85mm 1.8 USM in this comparison.

If what you hope for turns out to be true, I might sell my 5D Mark 3 and buy one of these entry level FF just out of spite.

Giving Canon $5500 is spiteful? :p

If this entry-level FF camera has the same noise sensitivity as the 5D3, a "silent" shooting mode, and options for setting minimum ISO/shutter speed, I'll surely be getting one.
