This is why I use Peli Cases and Gepe Card Safe Bags for all my equipment. I once was very happy about having them in a similar situation as yours. One big Peli Case costs less than 200$ and this is (in first row) the best insurance you can get!

Hope that everything is still working. Water damages are always a big problem...

You actually take the cases out with you when hiking for miles?  I think a zip lock bag is more practical.

Yes I take them everywhere I got the back-packaging "thing", so I can put the 1560 case on the back.
I even took it on a canoe tour and pulled it behind the boat. Everything alright.

I have also problems with my 3 weeks old 1Dx.
First, it was delivered with LOTS (!) of dust on the sensor. I have to remove at least 30 small and big spots in Lightroom on each picture!

Then the eye cup is ripped in the right corner, something that didn't even happen to my 4 years old 5D or 2 years old 7D! I thing the material is weak. Though it also fits the 7D, the material looks some kind of different!

Another thing is the glue / tape that holds the leather on the grip - it's not really strong enough on some spots. On that point where you place your thumb, it's coming off a bit!

I am going to bring it to the CPS next week.

Hey guys,

Today morning I recieved a phone call from GM-Foto, a big Canon Pro Shop in Frankfurt, Germany.
They told me that they got 8 1Dx's in the morning and I am one lucky person to get one.

I ordered in Dec. 27th and so I was within one of the first people.
They also told me that Germany recieved only about 500 cameras. And I suppose to be one of the very first in the whole country to get mine!

So, it has officially reached Germany

I am from Germany and ordered mine in December 27th at an authorized canon store. I was told that CPS members will be first in line. And they were also informed that some 1Dx's hit stores in UK, so maybe the first ones are coming next week (or within the first weeks in july).
I keep you updated when mine arrived

My idea is, that if the 1D-X and 1D-C are really the same concerning the hardware, why don't they sell the extra 4K-video stuff as an extra firmware update? You could produce ONE camera, that would be able to do both. But the basis cam is an 1D-X. If you want the 4K you just send the cam to Canon or something. Canon and the customer would safe lots of money, I suggest!
My first thought was, if it's the same hardware, then some people will be able to make the 1D-C firmware run on the 1D-X sometimes!
