Has the 1DX even been available for 6 months?  Canon got the firmware update out fairly quick for that one.
Didnt take them 6 months for that.
The only reason for this announcement so early was to try and slow down/stop people who are contemplating switching systems.

You can give a try on Gammi light event pro.the best so far.

Gammi Light looks very nice. Any USA dealers?

I recently tried the Graslon Prodigy after reading good reviews. Yes, it does a good job softening the light but the thing is big + heavy on my 600EX/RT.  The fancy connection system to mount on the flash , to me, isnt very secure. Won't take much of a "bump" to knock it off.  As an example of the weight, if you tilt the head up to bounce, not that you would with this thing, the weight of the Prodigy is too much and the head falls back to 90 degrees.

I returned mine and now going to order the smaller version "the Insight". Hopefully its lighter and does a good a job as his bigger brother.

This one has "paid money, no ship" written alllll over it.  Bookmark the userid and check back in a month or two when the negative feedback rolls in.

I stopped using ebay years ago.  If he is scamming and trying to get a quick 2K, how long is it before he gets the money after claiming to have mailed it.  Is it within a day like with Amazon?  Or is there a waiting period to make sure the buyer actually got it.

And if you never get it, how long does it take for ebay to get your money back.  I'm guessing it isn't instantaneous.

To get the money paid instantly  he would have to have at least 25 positive feedbacks as a seller, not total feedbacks.
If not, then the seller has to wait until the buyer receives the item and posts positive feedback for the seller before PayPal transfers the money to the sellers account.

Was in the same boat. I found a brand new in box Canon 220EX on eBay for $60. Works great. Not very big and has AF assist light.

Was in the same boat. Ended up getting a Canon SX 260 HS. Was at Disney last week and it worked great. The IS really helped with roller coaster vid's. Its got a terrific zoom. Fits in pocket pocket for wet rides. Battery is weak but bought (4) knock offs for $13.00 total that worked fine, enough power for the day/night.
I didnt have my 5D3 and L's with me so I wasnt tempted to stray away from the wife and kids to take more detailed shots and wasnt holding them up while I searched for the perfect angle.
Very satisfied with my decision, wife and kids even happier!!!

I have the 70-200 f2.8 IS and the Canon 2x II extender. I have to say that I was quite impressed with both the IQ and the speed of the AF. To be honest when I bought the extender I really was expecting the worst, but ended up being very happy.

EOS Bodies / Re: Heavy strap?
« on: June 08, 2012, 07:20:07 AM »
I use the op/tech CPS version connected to a C-loop which is then connected to a 1" Kirk clamp. That I will clamp onto the Kirk L-bracket which connects in 2 spots on the camera body (extra security) and not just the tripod socket.
Clamp disconnects quickly to remove strap for when using on a tripod or to connect to lens plate.
The neoprene op/tech strap is very comfortable. I had the BR rs7 but found it digging into my neck after a few hours of use - very well built and secure but not comfortable for me.
I can use the soft neoprene op/tech for hours with no neck gouging.
Now if Kirk can hurry and get their L bracket for the 5D3 w/ grip out I'll be in business.
I have been using the above setup with the 5D2 and 70-200 w/wo 2x. Have RRS lens plate connected to the lens so the neck strap easily connects to lens as well.

Nikon and Canon both have different strategies for making money.

Nikons new strategy is  more bodies on the streets of the world = more $$ through lens and accessories sales
Canons new strategy is to increase prices with minimal R/D = more $$

I like Nikons way of thinking!!!

I'm waiting for my Canon SX-260 HS to be delivered today.  A few Summer vacations planned this year and wanted something smaller for a belt case to hide away when going on rides at the Orlando parks or without case to sneak into concerts and sporting events with the kids, lol.

Digic 5
25 mm wide angle
1080p hd video
12.1 mp
25-500mm zoom range

Great zoom range + IS + waterproof case available for when snorkeling in the Keys.

Much easier for me to carry the 260 HS than to carry my 5D3 in those situations.

I read somewhere that Canon would start shipping them on May 15th, today. Anyone hear anything?
I believe it was an interview with that guy Chuck W.........? from Canon USA.
