EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Finnish wearing on my 5D Mark III
« on: March 02, 2013, 08:19:13 PM »
Same issue happened twice so far. Happened with a 3rd party battery grip. First time I panicked - then I calmed down and pulled the battery and disconnected the grip and reconnected everything and it was working again. Still saving $150 on a grip is worth it though.

I work at a student newspaper and captions must include first and last name, their classification (junior senior etc) and major. So a lot of information to gather. Some of my coworkers use the movie function to just record audio. I personally use a dedicated digital voice recorder so I don't suck up memory! I find out when I'm in a rush my hand writing gets worse and then I can't read the names. Also a top tip: have them spell it out! There's a billion versions of Kalee, Kaylee, Caylee, Kallie, oh gosh!

Technical Support / Battery and burst mode
« on: October 26, 2012, 03:33:04 AM »
I recently purchased a 5d Mark III via the Beach Camera flash sell. I also bought a spare battery (third party) as a back up. During a soccer match I forgot to recharge my Canon battery and opted to use the spare battery. Around 50% charge remaining the FPS in burst mode seemed to slow down - it was a noticeable change in FPS. I went home charged the Canon battery and tested my FPS again, it was back to normal. So is this phenomenon a battery issue or a camera body issue? Please note that on the Canon battery I never shot burst while the battery was lower than 50%. When the Canon battery finally does reach 50% I intended to test burst mode, but that might take a whole week to reach 50%!

Thanks for any help!
