Not much use if this new sensor is bigger than EF lenses.

No, you need a new focusing screen.

There might be some early 5DMKIII adopters with their noses out of place before the years out.

The 5DMKII is still going to be a great camera 10 years from now.

The plight of the early adopter.

Lenses / Re: Why buy Canon when third party are this good?
« on: April 29, 2012, 07:57:47 AM »

I really hope this lens sells well.  If third-party manufacturers elevate their game, Canon may be forced to be more innovative in their products and more prudent in their pricing.

Yes for the same reason as you quoted I hope they sell a boatload of them, though personally I would never own a Tamron.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: 5d3 not soft anymore?
« on: April 28, 2012, 08:03:56 PM »
I borrowed a friends 5d3 for a few days because he's been bothered by the IQ. I've shot lots and compared images taken with it and my 5d2 and the 5d3 look softer and gives some images a plasticky look.

The owner still has his 5d2 and his thoughts are the same.

Every shot taken by the 5d3 needs to have to be put through high pass filter in photoshop to make them look as sharp as the 5d2 taken SOOC.

EOS Bodies / Re: 5D Mark III is it better than the 5D Mark II

I've never had the slightest problem with the AF of the 5D2.

This is really a totally BS thread and a BS review.

If my 5D2 was as soft as the images in Ron's review, I'd be sending it and the lens off to Canon.

There's been millions of posted images showing how good the 5D2 is over the last 3.5 years......c'mon honestly, those photos are just plain unacceptably soft and NOT indicative of a 5D2.

EOS Bodies / Re: Are 5DIII users beta testers?

If you are beta testers for Canon testing out the 5DMKIII, just be thankful that you weren't the beta testers for the White Star line testing out the Titanic!

i'm loving the silent shutter and the high iso performance.

How quickly people change. I've read this numerous times on numerous forums.

It seems like only yesterday that people were commenting and loving the loud "clunk" of the 5D2 !!

I eagerly await news of the 5DMKIII as well. Though I doubt I'll be jumping onto it with my grubby paws straight away.

The 5DMKII just does everything I want it to at the present.

All my lenses and extenders are slowly but surely being made "old" generations.
Doesn't stop them working of course, but it's not the same feeling as owning the "latest".
