Those who have used both speeds, can you actually 'feel' the difference? Thx. Am curious!
Mine was ordered on 3/14 at 9:25pm CST (10:25pm EST). I did not receive an email from B&H saying my order had been filled on 7/17. I received an email on 7/17 at 7:15pm CST from my credit card company stating it had been charged $6,799 from B&H. I still have not received notice from B&H, but my order info when pulled up showed...In stock, sent to warehouse for UPS 3 day delivery. It is now 7/18 at 8:13 CST and B&H still shows in warehouse, no tracking # as of yet.
So, if you really have a tracking number on an order later than that, you were lucky for whatever reason. I'll have to call them tomorrow to make sure it doesn't hit my front door and I'm not there to receive it.

I just got notice that my 1DX has shipped from Crutchfield this afternoon and will be in my hands by early next week! The amazing part is that I just got on Crutchfield's pre-order list on 7/11, and it shipped out today! (Big Thanks to Sephknite for posting about his similar experience with them!).
I am posting this in a couple of threads to both give kudos to Crutchfield for an awesome turn around time and to let the rest of you know that if you are "far back" in a queue at one of the other vendors and really want the camera as fast as possible, you should at least consider getting on the Crutchfield list, as they, like others, don't charge your card until the camera ships. They seem to have a very "short" queue right now (last I read was 8 in line, and now I'm out of the line and so is the guy in front of me).
I had been one of the first to order on Amazon, within two hours of when the camera became available for pre-order on 3/16. Since then, I have not been able to get a bit of information out of Amazon about either where I was in the queue or when they expected to receive a shipment. After receiving my shipping confirmation from Crutchfield, I canceled my Amazon order. Now looking forward to getting the camera in my hands next week.
Yes, it does. Silent, it isn't - frankly, it's not even really quiet, although it's a little quieter than regular shooting.
Would you say the 5d3's silent mode is more silent in comparison to it's normal shooting sound than the 1DX's?
I've read that the 1dx's silent mode is louder than the 5diii's; and if that's the case then it's not really silent, since I think the 5d's, while quieter than shooting in regular mode, is definitely not "silent"

I agree, it's not truly "silent" on the 5d3, but it IS a lot quieter in my experience. Enough so that you can be fairly unobtrusive and it's not likely someone will hear it from more than a couple of feet away if there's any sort of noise going on. Like, say, a wedding reception or at a picnic or something.

Well, mine has shipped today and should be getting it Monday. Cant wait! Also decided to get the 600 flash with it.
